REFURBISHMENT of your worn out FLYWHEEL is - in most cases - possible We work with a highly specialzed company here in Germany They are following a 4 step process as outlined below: 1. Preparation and Initial Inspection Inspection:
● Assess surface condition
● Document existing markings or inscriptions 2. Measurement Process Dimensional Measurement:
● Measure disc thickness at multiple locations
● Check runout with dial indicator Geometric Tolerances:
● Check flatness of surfaces using straight edge and feeler gauge
● Verify perpendicularity of bores to disc plane
● Measure concentricity of inner and outer diameters Hardness Measurement:
● Measure the hardness of the contact surface with the HRC measurement method ● Enter all measured values in inspection protocol
● Mark deviations from nominal dimensions
● Photographic documentation for special cases 3. Grinding Process Machine Setup:
● Dress grinding wheel before starting work
● Check and adjust coolant supply
● Secure vibrating disc in clamping fixture Define Grinding Parameters:
● Select appropriate grinding wheel for the hardness of the steel
● Plan number of grinding passes Grinding Process:
● Fine grinding for surface quality
● Continuous monitoring of dimensional accuracy and surface quality Post-Processing:
● Deburr all edges
● Clean flywheel of grinding dust and coolant
● Surface inspection for cracks or burn marks 4. Balancing Process Initial Measurement:
● Mount flywheel on balancing spindle
● Perform unbalance measurement in both planes
● Document unbalance amounts and angular positions Unbalance Correction:
● Calculate correction masses
● Mark holes for balancing weights or material removal
● Perform correction measures (drilling) Re-measurement:
● Repeat unbalance measurement after correction
● Check residual unbalance against tolerance specifications
● Perform additional correction cycles if necessary Final Inspection:
● Document final unbalance measurement
● Visual inspection of correction locations
● Mark vibrating disc with balancing date PRICE on REQUEST
