The Ferrari 550 Maranello (Tipo F133) marked the return to a front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout for its 2-seater 12-cylinder model, 23 years after the end of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The upgraded 575M Maranello offered 2 different six-speed transmissions, a conventional manual and, for the first time, Magneti Marelli's "F1" automated manual gearbox.
